Arnica oil, which, when applied to the skin, reduces pain caused by inflammation, is effective against all kinds of bruises, aches, sprains and even arthritis flare-ups. Arnica oil can also be used to relieve areas of stiffness resulting from flying or long-distance driving. The thymol found in arnica is an effective vasodilator of subcutaneous blood capillaries, which helps facilitate the transport of blood and other fluid accumulations and acts as an anti-inflammatory to aid normal healing processes. Arnica oil stimulates the flow of white blood cells, which process congested blood to help disperse trapped fluid from the muscles, joints and bruised tissue.

St. John's wortoil has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties which help to treat bruises, muscular pains, sores, bruises, tennis elbow, sprains, stiff achy joints, nervous afflictions, burns and varicose veins. It also treats incision pain caused after surgery.

Cayenne pepper oil can reduce muscle and joint pain significantly. Cayenne has a counter-irritant effect: if you rub cayenne on the affected area, it will cause a mild irritation to the tissue to which it was applied, thus distracting from the original more severe joint pain. The active ingredient in cayenne is a substance known as capsaicin. This chemical relieves pain by acting on the sensory nerves.

Essential oils of cinnamon contains a blood thinning compound which helps to improve blood circulation and thus significantly reduce pain. Good blood circulation also ensures oxygen supply to the body’s cells, which leads to higher metabolic activity. Cinnamon is also an anti-inflammatory substance which helps in relieving stiffness of muscles and joints.

Eucalyptus is analgesic and anti-inflammatory in nature. Therefore it is often recommended for patients suffering from rheumatism, lumbago, sprained ligaments and tendons, stiff muscles, and muscular aches

Storage

Natural cosmetics are best stored in a cooler, dry place. Do not expose it to direct sunlight or frost. Sunlight can devalue it or reduce its expiry date.
