Protect yourself from insects the smart way!

Summer is finally here! We're sure you're looking forward to sunbathing, swimming and a well-deserved holiday with your family, just like we are. But summer isn't just about sun, beaches, sea and endless relaxation. Unfortunately, this can often be disrupted by annoying insects. Each of you has surely experienced it countless times: itchy mosquito bites, painful horsefly bites, or even ticks.
Why is it not advisable to use conventional repellents?
If you choose a conventional repellent, it may be the most toxic cosmetic product in your home. Some conventional repellents may contain pesticides. And we don't want to spray those on our skin, do we? The most commonly used ingredient is diethyltoluamide (DEET). That's why, when choosing a conventional repellent, you usually go for the ones with the highest DEET content. To avoid potential penalties, manufacturers of conventional repellents state on the packaging that they can only be used on clothing. But let's be honest, who among us goes into the woods in long trousers and a long-sleeved T-shirt in the hot summer? In addition to being toxic to the aquatic environment, DEET repellents are also very effective solvents. And the toxic substances in repellents have a very negative effect on the cells of our central nervous system, for example.
Look at insects differently this year!
This year, take a smart and, above all, natural approach to annoying insects! Whether you're going to the forest, the water, or even a picnic in the grass, equip yourself with the right repellent. We dare say that you will find only the best ones in our offer. We have carefully checked their composition, so you can choose without worry between different brands, packaging, and different methods of application. The choice is entirely up to you :)
Soaphoria's Mosquito Balm fits in any backpack or pocket, lasts a long time and has a pleasant herbal-citronella scent. The essential oils it contains provide long-lasting protection even during strenuous physical activity, making it suitable for outdoor athletes.
Myrro's Repellent body lotion is a highly effective gel-like lotion that, thanks to its pleasant scent of basil, lavender and a combination of effective essential oils, not only repels mosquitoes and ticks, but also soothes irritated skin and relieves itching in areas where you have been bitten. It smells pleasant and lasts a long time on your skin. It is easy to apply and nourishes the skin at the same time.
Eco by Sonya needs no introduction, it is a sure bet. In Australia, they have developed a repellent that effectively repels annoying insects while nourishing and moisturising your skin. Their Repellent Outdoor Spray is a must-have in our range. The herbal-lemon scent will lift your spirits, the spray has high repellent properties and its consistency does not leave your skin feeling greasy. It is also suitable for the whole family, including children from three years of age.
If you are tempted to try a refreshing spray containing apple cider vinegar, tea tree, rosemary, lavandin and other ingredients in a repellent spray made in the Czech Republic, choose Anela and their Lesa pán spray. The spray is very easy to apply, does not leave a greasy film and can be sprayed directly onto the skin. It will make your walks in the woods, camping trips or barbecues more enjoyable. If an insect does manage to bite you, simply apply a drop of this spray to the affected area and the itching will quickly subside. The spray also gently treats and disinfects the affected area. The mixture is suitable for children from three years of age, seniors and expectant mothers.
What to do if you've already been stung or bitten by a bold insect invader? The ideal is to use a soothing cool ointment or gel to apply to the affected area. We have tried the Aloe vera gel with herbs from Natuint cosmetics and absolutely recommend it! Not only will it help soothe irritated skin after an insect attack, it's also great for healing all sorts of minor skin injuries and problems, reducing acne, cold sores, aphthae and corns, and it will also help with skin and nail fungus. Simply a universal helper that must not be missing in any household.
Are you wondering how to protect your little ones? Babies and toddlers have very delicate and sensitive skin. We do not recommend repellents, even natural ones, for babies, mainly because of their high content of essential oils. So how can you protect your little one? Simple, with lavender water! Lavender naturally repels insects, and lavender water is so gentle that you don't have to worry about using it on babies.
By the way, it is said that if you start taking vitamin B1 (thiamine) regularly well in advance, it will also help protect you from female mosquito attacks. We haven't tested whether this is really the case. The truth remains, however, that some people simply do not ‘smell’ good to biting insects.
We believe that you will find something you like in our range and that you will be satisfied! And if you have the time and inclination, please share your experiences with us, we would love to hear them! :-)
Your girls ❤️
