Kvitok Barrier Booster Gentle Intimate Cleansing Gel 50 ml
Kvitok Barrier Booster Gentle Intimate Cleansing Gel 50 ml
The sensitive intimate environment can be disrupted by hormonal changes, weakened immunity, or the use of aggressive cleaning agents.
Therefore, it is very important to maintain the natural microbial balance using appropriate cosmetic products. This gentle intimate gel helps maintain a healthy microflora, respects the pH of intimate areas, and helps prevent inflammation and fungal infections.
Intended for: fungal infections, inflammations, irritation, itching.
Main ingredients: prebiotic-postbiotic complex, lactic acid, oat extracts, rose water.
Age: Depending on maturation.
Notice: From a legislative perspective, cosmetic products are not classified as medicinal products, and therefore are not used to treat skin diseases that arise from internal problems in the body (regardless of brand, price, or purchase in a pharmacy). They are used to alleviate symptoms and treat damaged skin. To solve the problem, it is necessary to approach it comprehensively – from the outside and the inside.
It has been proven that the prebiotic-postbiotic complex supports the formation of a microbiological film on our skin, prevents the development of further infections, and aids in hydration.
Thanks to gentle plant-based surfactants, it gently and carefully cleans while respecting the natural acidic pH of intimate areas.
Rose water and aloe vera soothe, refresh, and help prevent the disruption of microbial balance.
Intimate areas are the first line of defense against infections and are specially adapted for this purpose.
Impurities often accumulate in the folds, and increased humidity, sweating, menstruation, and hormonal fluctuations affect the growth of microorganisms and the balance of microorganisms in this area, which can lead to odor and vulvovaginal infection.Intimate hygiene is therefore part of basic body care. The intimate environment of our body is very sensitive, but these areas have the ability to self-clean, so it is not necessary to use cleaning products every day. Clean water will suffice.
Avoid regular use of various antibacterial soaps and surfactants or wet wipes (containing alcohol or antibacterial agents), as you may cause more harm than good. It is also not recommended to use perfumed shower gels intended for the body. "Classic soaps are not suitable for washing genitals, they are alkaline, change the pH of the vagina, and reduce its defenses (MUDr. Viera Andiľová, gynecologist).“
This disrupts the natural balance and acidic pH environment, leading to the development of inflammations and fungal infections.
When to use intimate hygiene products:
- on regular days, 2-3 times a week is sufficient,
- during menstruation,
- after sports,
- in case of heavy sweating,
- after sexual intercourse,
- during periods of inflammation and yeast infections.
The skin in this area differs from other areas of the skin in terms of hydration, friction, permeability, and visually recognizable irritation, and is more sensitive. The composition of vaginal microflora changes depending on internal factors such as age, hormonal changes (e.g. during menstruation, menstruation and pregnancy) and infections, and various external factors (e.g. hygienic habits, sexual intercourse, use of antibiotics or hormone replacement therapy).
The pH in this area also fluctuates. The pH value in the external area is 3.5–4.7, and in the internal area, it changes with age: for girls before their first menstruation/onset of puberty, it is 7.0, in reproductive age it is 3.8–4.4, in menopause it is 6.5–7.0 (without hormone therapy) and 4.5–5.0 (with hormone therapy).
Products containing lactic acid and with an acidic pH are beneficial for maintaining a healthy microbial environment, but due to these differences, such products for adults are not recommended for use in children or girls who have not yet had their first menstruation and are therefore not in reproductive age.
The key active ingredients of this cleansing gel are prebiotic and postbiotic complexes, which support a healthy natural microbiome environment of the skin.
The skin microbiome is composed of a layer of bacteria (containing more than 1,000 different species) that provide natural protection. These bacteria are found not only on the surface of our skin but also form the basis of immunity, for example, in the digestive tract. We can maintain, support, and restore the microbiome in various ways:
- we can eliminate harmful bacteria using anti-inflammatory components
- we can feed the so-called "good" bacteria with prebiotics and support their growth, i.e. support balance
- we can add "good" bacteria directly using probiotics
- we add products of "good" bacteria using postbiotics
A very important component is therefore the prebiotic complex Biolin P, which has been proven to support the formation of a microbiological film on our skin and prevent the development of further infections. This natural prebiotic consists of inulin extracted from chicory root and gluco-oligosaccharides obtained by enzymatic synthesis of natural sugars. Supports the growth of protective microorganisms that help restore the microbiome layer, while pathogenic bacteria are eliminated, meaning their ratio is naturally balanced, which helps prevent inflammatory reactions.
Its function is complemented by Aurafirm N – a fermented oat extract that acts as both a postbiotic and a prebiotic. Prebiotic components include polyphenols and ectoine, while postbiotic components include AHA acids (particularly lactic acid), amino acids (mainly glutamic acid and proline), and bioactive peptides. The fermentation process increases the bioavailability of these active ingredients in oat extract, making them more usable for the skin than, for example, in oat flour or colloidal oat extract, even at low concentrations.
Aurafirm N contains oat extracts fermented using Lactobacillus bacteria. They are deactivated by pasteurization at the end of the fermentation process, but microscopic images confirm that the bacteria still retain their shape and that the cell wall and membranes are intact. The bacteria were not lysed/decomposed and when applied to the skin, they behave similarly to live bacteria, i.e. probiotics.
Clinical studies show that regular use of a product containing this complex supports the maintenance of skin barrier homeostasis, triggers antioxidant responses, and has a positive effect on skin hydration.
Studies have shown that Aurafirm N induces increased growth of all bacteria found on the skin, which is particularly beneficial for skin whose microbiome has been severely disrupted, for example after washing with harsh soap or after shaving. In the studies, Savon de Marseille soap was used, whose higher pH negatively affected the slightly acidic pH of the skin, and thus the microbiome – long-term use led to changes in the diversity of the microbiome.
Lactic acid is a natural alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that has many benefits for skin health. Gently exfoliates the top layers of dead cells and promotes smooth and radiant skin. Helps improve skin hydration by promoting moisture retention, keeping the skin soft and supple. It is also suitable for balancing the skin's pH, which strengthens its protective barrier. In intimate hygiene products, it helps maintain the natural pH balance – a healthy intimate environment has a slightly acidic pH, which prevents the overgrowth of harmful bacteria and yeast. Lactic acid supports this balance. Supports the growth of beneficial lactobacilli, which are a natural part of the vaginal microflora and protect against infections. It is a natural moisturizing factor (NMF) that helps maintain the hydration of mucous membranes and skin, thereby reducing irritation and dryness. Thanks to its mild exfoliating and antibacterial properties, it helps prevent unpleasant sensations such as itching or burning.
Aloe vera is well known for its exceptional moisturizing, soothing, and regenerative properties. It helps wounds heal faster and stimulates collagen production at the site of damage, keeping the skin supple and elastic. It also has strong anti-inflammatory effects, acts as a disinfectant and antibiotic, and is often used to relieve acne, burns, blisters, allergic reactions, and various skin conditions. Soothes irritation and redness, has anti-inflammatory and moisturizing effects, and regenerates damaged skin.
The gel is based on Damask rose floral water instead of ordinary water, and due to its effects, it is an active ingredient in itself, not just a carrier of active ingredients. Maintains skin pH, hydrates it, stimulates regeneration processes, and has anti-inflammatory effects. Refreshes, soothes redness and allergic reactions of the skin.
The cleansing gel also contains a combination of two plant-based surfactants that gently and delicately cleanse the skin. Yucca Schidigera is a plant rich in saponins (plant-based foaming agents), making it a perfect alternative to conventional surfactants used for cleaning in traditional cosmetics. To enhance the effect, the extract is supplemented with coco-glucoside (a non-ionic surfactant derived from coconut oil and plant sugars), which is particularly gentle on the skin and, due to its easy biodegradability, is also an excellent ecological choice.
Glyceryl oleate in combination with coco-glucoside as a mixture of non-ionic surfactant and fatty ester is an excellent moisturizing agent (supplements lipids in the skin structure).
Vegetable glycerin prevents skin dryness and helps maintain its hydration.
The gel is also enriched with apricot oil: it removes fat-soluble impurities from the skin, has protective and regenerative effects, and is particularly suitable for sensitive, dry, and aging skin. Helps with eczema, acne, and inflammation, and relieves the skin of an unpleasant feeling of tightness.
Vitamin E supports skin healing, improves its elasticity, and thanks to its antioxidant effect, protects the skin from the negative impacts of free radicals from the external environment.
Usage: Use an appropriate amount of gel to wash intimate areas and rinse thoroughly with water.
Why will you love it?
The gel is pleasant and non-irritating, and it comes in a pump bottle that is easy to apply.
