Basic properties: Tonic, balancing, analgesic, antiseptic, hemostatic, astringent, anticoagulant, diuretic, antibacterial, insect-repellent, antidepressant.

Use in aromatherapy:

Relaxing, sensual, refreshing and revitalising. Use for tension, exhaustion, depression, mental instability and heightened stress.

• Add a few drops to the essential oil burner for relaxation. Use also for relief from premenstrual syndrome (PMS).

 Therapeutic use:

Use against menstrual problems, to soothe the skin, against eczema, hemorrhoids, nervous pain, to heal stretch marks, and as an insect repellent.

• Apply directly onto cuts to stop bleeding.

• Use against herpes by applying a few drops directly onto the affected parts.

• Add a few drops to a creme or oil against hemorrhoids.

Beauty:

For use by all skin types, even oily and acne-prone skin.

• Add a few drops to your creme or face or body oil for skin regeneration (it has a very intense aroma that will overshadow any others).

In the home:

• Add a few drops to your essential oil burner to repel insects.

Precautions

Geranium oil does not cause any side effects, since it is non-toxic, non-irritant and generally non-sensitizing, yet can cause sensitivity in some people and due to the fact that it balances the hormonal system, it might not be a good idea to use it during pregnancy.
